Case 1
Male - 73 years old suffering from Borr. III-type gastric cancer
12/94 Gastric Fiber Examination - Patient suffered from severe anemia and loss of appetite and could not get out of bed. He was too sick to go to hospital, and therefore could not undergo Echo and CT scans. Upon physical examination at his home, patient was neither suffering from swelling of lymph nodes nor metastase, but was suffering from severe anemia caused by gastric bleeding. Patient received blood transfusions. Due to loss of appetite, AHCC was administered at a dose of 1gram per day. On the next visit, he was not in his bed. He had gotten up out of bed to go make a bowl of noodles. Following this AHCC regimen, his appetite increased.
An examination of his gastric fiber after 3 months showed no increase of the size of the pathological class V tumor.
In July of 1995, the patient’s health improved enough to allow him to ride a motorbike, but suddenly the patient suffered a relapse and died the following month.
It should be noted that the patient’s family chose not to tell him that he was suffering from cancer. He never knew that he was suffering from gastric cancer and never knew the reason for taking AHCC.
It was later discovered that he had stopped taking AHCC in June, two months prior to his death.

Case 2
Male - 42 years old suffering from breast cancer with bone metatasis
In 1994, upon discovery of breast cancer, the patient’s cancer had already spread to axillary lymph nodes. In autumn of that same year, he underwent radical surgery as treatment.
The patient first consulted me in April, 1995 and began taking AHCC at 3 grams per day. During this time, the patient began receiving chemotherapy treatments from another hospital. The patient happened to take a 1 gram dose of AHCC 40 minutes prior to these treatments and was surprised to note that the side effects of this therapy was lessened.
In 1997 an MRI examination revealed metastasis in his ribs. AHCC dosage was increased to 6 grams per day. After 3 months the metastasis had disappeared and AHCC dosage was returned to 3 grams per day.
Present tests from Echo, CT and MRI scans along with Tumor Marker testing show no abnormal findings.

Case 3
Female - 52 years old suffering from hypertension
Patient had blood pressure of 200+ mmHG. She began taking 1 gram of AHCC per day. After 2 weeks her blood pressure had dropped to 130 - 140 mmHg levels.
Presently, patient is not taking any medical drugs for her hypertension.

Accounts and Observations of AHCC's Effectiveness

1] Diabetes Mellitus
AHCC nutritional supplement can possibly help in lowering blood sugar levels of patients with diabetes mellitus, but it will not lower it to an extreme. Cases where patients are using anti-diabetic drugs and insulin injections should use care since these drugs have the possibility to induce hypoglycemia. It is necessary to monitor blood sugar levels frequently as well as the amount of drug dosage. In insulin dependent cases, there have been cases where insulin injections are no longer necessary when using AHCC as a nutritional supplement. An important concern is to watch out for the rebound of the diabetic condition when a patient stops taking AHCC. When blood sugar levels are good even without a special diet, patients tend to stop taking AHCC. It is likely that a severe response worse than the previous diabetic condition can occur when AHCC supplementation is suspended. It is because food consumption increases when this happens.
In this case, even a double dosage of AHCC cannot return control of blood sugar levels. Diabetics just cannot stop taking AHCC when the diabetic condition seems to be under control.

2] Hepatitis (including C-type)
The liver is the organ most responsive to AHCC supplementation particularly for hepatitis There have been reports that C-antigens disappear in 30% of hepatitis C-type cases where AHCC is used as a nutritional supplement.
AHCC is not effective for surgical icterus caused by bile duct stones. Surgery is recommended for these cases.

3] Cancer
Liver cancer is the most receptive among all cancers to AHCC supplementation
Overall, AHCC is an effective nutritional supplement for cancer treatment. There is a reported 7% rate of complete disappearance of cancer. There is a common progression in cases where AHCC supplementation is effective. Within 1-2 months there is a considerable decline/decrease in the tumor marker, and when this happens, there is hope. In case of appetite loss, there is quick improvement of the appetite with AHCC nutritional supplementation.
The question is whether the cancer patient chooses to spend his or her remaining time suffering or not. AHCC supplementation enables patients to live a better quality of life with the time that they have remaining.

Example: Even when someone in the immediate family catches a cold, the cancer patient has a stronger resistance to catching the same cold because of a stronger immunity build up due to AHCC supplementation.
Example: Chemotherapy: When 1.5 grams of AHCC is taken 60 minutes prior to chemotherapy, suffering from treatment side effects is lessened..
Example: Usually white blood cell counts are low when receiving chemotherapy, but with AHCC supplementation, white blood cells are at higher levels.

Be aware that AHCC is not an all-mighty medicine, but a nutritional supplement.

Additional Comments
* AHCC nutritional supplement was relatively effective on cases of myoma of the uterus.
* There was little effectiveness of AHCC supplementation for blood cancers (leukemia, lymphoma).
* AHCC was not effective on brain tumor cases.
* When it is not possible for the patient to take AHCC orally, the prognosis for partial or full recovery is dim

4] Hyperlipemia
AHCC is aseffective for this malady on the same level as with other health food supplements.

5] Hypertension
Use of AHCC as a nutritional supplement is effective in some cases
I think that there is a possible relationship between hypertension and humoral tumors. For example some tumors produce Adrenalin, nor-adrenalin, catecholamins, aldosteron, and renin. This can be diagnosed by a blood hormone examination and ultrasound testing on patients suffering from hypertension

6] Atopic Dermatitus
Cases have been observed where symptoms completely disappear when 1 gram of AHCC nutritional supplement is taken each day.

Suggestions for including AHCC in a formal medical treatment routine

AHCC is not a medical drug. It is a nutritional supplement and used as an addition to or in concert with medical treatment.
Weakening patients, who find it difficult to endure actual cancer treatment and surgery, as well as patients, who doubt the effectiveness of medical drugs and reject Western-style medicine, have both used AHCC nutritional supplements with good results.
As I prescribe medical remedies, I also recommend AHCC supplementation along with surgery, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy treatments, etc., I feel it is the most effective approach to overcoming cancer.

Suggestions for including AHCC as part of a dietary supplement routine for maintaining vigor and health.
